Family strike gas from tubewell
Getting cooking gas for free and forever may sound a little optimistic but this has happened near Konark in Orissa, where a family has struck a reserve of natural gas while digging a tube well. The family has tapped the gas source and is using it to run a gas chullah. The preliminary scientific test by Oil India has revealed that it is Methane gas but whether the reserve is big enough for commercial exploitation will be known after a series of tests.
