One of the biggest talking point of the Union Budget 2018 was the government promise to boost farmers' income, something the farmers have long sought: 50% profit, government support price or the MSP 50% above cost of production. This is the beginning of the Rabi, or spring harvest season and the first crops are hitting the mandis, or agri markets: chana, dal, mustard among others.
