Farmer suicides continue in Orissa
Three farmers have killed themselves in Orissa since December. All of them over loan-related problems, an alarming development in Orisssa. The government needs to put in place a support system before it becomes a trend in the state. 22-year-old Pramod Sahu, a vegetable farmer in Orissa's Bargarh district ended his life on Saturday morning. Unable to bear the consequences of a failed crop and a 2-lakh rupee loan, he drank the pesticide he used on his farm.
