Farmers In Distress: Politics At Play?
As the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh struggles to stop the violent farmer protests in the state, the Prime Minister held a top level meeting today. five farmers were shot during a protest on Tuesday and since then farmers in Mandsaur, Dewas and Neemuch have taken to the roads burning and stoning vehicles. The opposition has alleged that PM Modi's government has no strategy to help farmers and Rahul Gandhi plans to be in Mandsaur on Thursday. As the blame game begins, has politics overtaken farmer distress?
