The centre is holding a third of talks - that are taking place "without preconditions" - with farmers protesting its contentious new farm laws. Thirty-five farmers' representatives are meeting Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in Delhi. The government is expected to tell the farmers that the laws will not be repealed and try to dispel concerns over minimum support prices. Earlier today, sources said Home Minister Amit Shah met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Mr Tomar, Mr Goyal and BJP chief JP Nadda for a second time in less than 48 hours as massive protests swirl around the national capital for a sixth straight day.
