Farmers protesting the centre's three farm laws have called for a countrywide "chakka jam" protest on Saturday. In other news, a nationwide law to ban religious conversions or interfaith marriages is not being planned since it falls under the dominion of states, the central government said in parliament. The centre has given itself time - till July 9 at least - to frame and implement rules relating to the controversial citizenship law, amendments to which were passed in December 2019.
