Petition In Supreme Court Against Protesting Farmers Blocking Key Highways
A case has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a direction to the authorities to open the national and state highways which have been closed due to protests by farmers. The petition filed by Punjab resident Gaurav Luthra said blocking the highway, especially on the Shambhu border, is against the fundamental rights of citizens, and is a crime under the National Highway Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
