Women Farmers Hold Kisan Sansad To Protest Against Farm Laws
Women farmers held the second all-women Kisan Sansad at Jantar Mantar in Delhi today. Farmers have been protesting at Delhi's borders for over eight months demanding the repeal of the three farm laws passed by Parliament last year. The farmers say the legislation would corporatise farming and is against their interests. The Kisan Sansad is being held quite close to Parliament where the monsoon session is underway. The mock Parliament is the newest form the farmers' protest has taken since talks with the government proved to be inconclusive.
