FDI Limit For Insurance Raised From 74% To 100%, Rules To Be Simplified

Nirmala Sitharaman Budget Speech | Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the government will raise the FDI limit in the insurance sector to 100%. The enhanced FDI limit for insurance companies will be applicable to those that invest the entire premium in India. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the first full budget under the Modi 3.0 government, marking her 8th consecutive budget. In her opening address, she emphasized the vision of a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India) free of poverty, with quality education, accessible and affordable healthcare, and comprehensive reforms. She outlined that this budget will focus on reforms across six key areas: taxation, urban development, mining, financial sector, power, and regulatory frameworks.
