Speaking to the media after a public rally in Kasganj Lok Sabha, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the "fight against EVM is long". SP chief's reaction comes after Supreme Court on Friday rejected all the petitions seeking 100 per cent verification of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) votes with their Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) slips. He said, "The fight against EVM is long. We respect the verdict of the Supreme Court but we will continue to fight. Many countries in the world consider it unconstitutional to vote through EVM. Germany is a country more advanced than us and it doesn't vote through EVM. Speeches of BJP leaders are reflecting the trends that they are going to lose. BJP wants to escape from the questions of inflation and unemployment. BJP is in the fight in one constituency in UP, rest 79 are going to be won by the INDIA alliance."
