Finance Ministry hikes its tax collection targets
Just before the Union Budget, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is asking for more money from his tax officers. Both, the corporate and income tax targets, as well as the excise and customs collection targets for this fiscal, have been hiked. The direct tax target has been raised from Rs. 4.30 lakh crore to Rs. 4.46 lakh crore an increase of 3.7 per cent.
