Fire on merchant vessel off Mumbai coast put out
The Coast Guard has brought under control the fire on board abandoned merchant vessel Mol Comfort, which was being towed by the tugs off the coast of Mumbai. The fire was detected by a Coast Guard chopper on Saturday while the ship was being towed to Oman. Cooling operations are currently underway and the company which owns the ship will begin the salvage operation once the process is complete.
