Dr Aqsa Shaikh, a true inspiration as the country's only transgender person to head a Covid vaccination centre in India, spoke with us to discuss the disparities in the healthcare systems, suggestions to pave the path ahead to improve access to healthcare, as transgender patients continue to encounter mistreatment when seeking healthcare in our country. Dr Shaikh expressed her opinion on the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 and whether it does justice to representation.
