In parliament's Central Hall when President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the new tax system last night, they were joined by several opposition leaders who made it to the mega event that the Congress this week had dismissed as a tamasha (drama). Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar was there on the front row tables, seated next to BJP patriarch LK Advani and BJP president Amit Shah. Also, present in the Central Hall were representatives from the Mayawati's Bahujan Samajwadi Party and Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party. HD Deve Gowda, the former Prime Minister from the Janata Dal (S) was on the dais.
