The flood situation in several parts of Bihar worsened on Monday due to rising waters in the Lalbakeya and Bagmati rivers, tributaries of the Kosi River, which flows into the East Champaran district of Bihar. Flood-affected residents in the Kundwa Chainpur police station area of the Raxaul-Darbhanga railway section have set up temporary shelters under tarpaulin sheets, as the floodwaters have not only swept away their belongings but also destroyed their homes.
