The Delhi government is in work mode. The Lieutenant Governor, along with the Delhi Chief Minister, is inspecting the drains of Delhi. The Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control Department informed the National Green Tribunal that it will desilt the open portions of the 'Sunnari Pull' drain and Kusha drains in South Delhi, while the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will handle the desilting of the covered portions of the drains. It is important to note that all 24 of Delhi's major drains that flow into the Yamuna come under the INFC department; however, it lacks the expertise in cleaning the drains. Currently, the government's focus is on desilting the major drains. The Chief Minister has made it clear that there is a strict timeline for this process, emphasizing the need to improve Delhi's drainage system.
