Food Security Bill redraft misses key elements: Dreze
Food security, it seems will be the UPA's flagship project in its second term. The new draft bill is expected to cover two thirds of the country's population getting subsidised foodgrain. But the Food Security redraft may not be as inclusive as it looks at the first glance. Developmental Economist and NAC Member Professor Jean Dreze told NDTV that while the redrafted Food Security Bill was an improvement on the previous state, it was a missed opportunity for a real and visionary change.
