The government has suspended the foreign funding licence of CARE India, a non-governmental organisation, over alleged law violations. It joins a list of nearly 400 NGOs that saw a crackdown in the past seven months. While the government says it has the right to demand financial compliance, much like other nations all over the world, the NGOs have cried vendetta.
