External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar hit out at the Western media over its criticism of India saying they act as "political players" in the country's domestic elections. He called it an intrusion in India's internal politics and that they cannot decide who should be ruling us. For years, there is a section of political observers that has believed that India's growth story, its ethos, its resilience, and the unique features of its democracy have not been adequately and fairly reflected in the Western press. Many also felt there is an agenda against the present government, particularly the PM, while others think there is an active attempt by some foreign media outlets to tell our story better in a more balanced way.
