Former News Presenter booked for Remarks on COVID beds in Tamil Nadu

The Chennai police has booked popular news presenter Varadharajan under Epidemics Diseases Act and Disaster Management Act for his comments that hospital beds weren't available for a family friend who had COVID like symptoms. The video has gone viral. Though the state government has denied allegations of shortage of beds for COVID patients, many ask if the Tamilnadu government attempts to silence whistleblowers.
