Fox News Anchor's Tribute To Queen: White-Washing Colonial Crimes?

Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson has stirred a huge controversy after a monologue on his show where he was full of praise for the British empire, even calling it decent and humane, and then going to say that when the British left India, they left behind an entire civilisation. This civilisation, he said, included language, a legal system, schools, public buildings- all of which are still in use today. He then went on to show a photo of the Victoria Terminus station in Mumbai and claimed India had built nothing like this after independence. But his comments have drawn a sharp reaction here and it comes just days after the death of Queen Elizabeth the II and the debate that has ignited on Britain's colonial empire and the destruction it left behind.
