GIFT City or Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, Gandhinagar, is India's sole international financial services centre, with a vision and ambition to compete with global hubs such as Singapore and Dubai. The conducive tax structure for companies operating from GIFT City, policy and infrastructure boost, and the recent relaxation of prohibition for people working at GIFT City, have been making news. Despite a slow start, recent positive changes have sparked optimism, potentially indicating a turning point for this smart city's growth.
