Goa polls: English vs Konkani
What should the medium of instruction be between Class I and IV in a government aided school? Should it be English or the regional language, or should parents be given the liberty to make the choice? This is the big debate and now an election issue in Goa. This, after a certain section of society backed by the BJP opposed the government's decision to grant aid also to English medium schools. While parents are demanding a choice, the ones opposing say those promoting English don't respect India and it's culture.
