Goldman Sachs cuts staff; US housing data mixed
US housing data shows mixed signs with a marginal dip compared to last month while number of building permits rose to a three and half year high. US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner warns Europe against steep austerity measures saying that draconian measures to fix their budgets will set a negative trend. Goldman Sachs starts a new round of staff cuts in its trading and investment divisions.
