Good Health Is Dependent On Access To Good Sanitation Facilities: Union Minister Smriti Irani

In an exclusive interview with NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India, Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Women and Child Development talked about mother and child health and the four key determinants. "Not many people know that good health is dependent on access to good sanitation facilities. To wash hands, you need access to clean water. Secondly, access to clean toilets. Building toilets is equally important for healthy living circumstances for a woman, child or the family at large", said Ms Irani. Access to nutrition and affordable medication are two other critical factors, she added.
