Gorkha stir: Indefinite strike today
The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, which has been agitating for a separate Gorkhaland state, will start its indefinite strike from 6 pm on Monday evening. The GJM insists that this will give people in the hills enough time to stock up on essentials and for tourists to leave the area. However, the bandh not affect tea gardens and schools will remain open. Siliguri and the Dooars too, will remain unaffected.
