Government Should Hand Over Properties: J Jayalalithaa's Niece
Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Madhavan has said the state government should hand over all properties of Ms Jayalalithaa to her and her brother Deepak. On Wednesday, the Madras High Court ruled Deepa and her brother Deepak as legal heirs. The court told the state government to reconsider plans to convert Ms Jayalalithaa's Poe's Garden residence into a memorial. Recently, the Tamil Nadu Governor had promulgated an ordinance for temporary possession of the house and movable properties to pave way for the memorial.
