Govt scheme blamed for malnutrition deaths
It may have been hunger that killed them but as one report indicates, if it was not for a faulty scheme introduced last month by the Maharashtra state government, the nine children from the Thane district might have lived. In the tribal region of Maharashtra's Thane district, a scheme the government had said would take care of the nutritional needs of malnourished children and empower women has failed.
