Govt to curb petrol adulteration
You may get your fill but not what you are paying for. In many cases this is just adulterated petrol diluted with cheaper fuels such as kerosene and naphtha. As the racket goes out of hand, oil ministry officials and company bosses put their heads together to counter this problem. They have decided to carefully monitor retail by installing adulteration detectors in petrol pumps across the country by 2007.
