Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has said that the effect of the truckers' strike is beginning to show on the supply of vegetables, fruits and milk in Maharashtra. The CM said that of the nearly 2 lakh trucks that come to Mumbai, only 10 per cent have been operating, and the state transport has only a day's supply of fuel left. While appealing that people should give public transport the first preference, he said the government would get tough on the people participating in the strike.
