Govt to set norms for regional airlines
The Air Deccan aircraft flying to small towns may soon have competition from regional airlines. The government will now issue licenses to airlines under a new category called regional airlines.However, these airlines will have to operate under certain rules. They will be allowed to use only one metro airport except in south India where they can use Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. These airlines will connect one metro of their choice to other small towns.
