Gujarat 2017: Back To The Future

The quota demand by the Patidar community in 2015 triggered off a series of caste mobilisations in Gujarat which could impact next month's Assembly elections in the State. With a possibility that Hardik Patel might split the Patel vote, the BJP has been increasingly focusing on strengthening it's base amongst the Other Backward Classes who are presently divided between the ruling party and the Congress, under the leadership of Alpesh Thakor . But who will the Adivasis support, in an election where development appears to have taken a backseat.
