Gujarat Bridge Collapse: NDTV Uncovers Trail Of Negligence

Nine people were arrested Monday in connection with the collapse of a pedestrian bridge in Gujarat that killed more than 130 people, police said. Authorities said nearly 500 people were on and around the nearly 150-year-old suspension bridge when supporting cables snapped. The old wires, NDTV has found, were not changed.Gujarat-based Oreva has been accused of violating multiple safety rules, leading to the huge tragedy just four days after the bridge reopened to the public.
