Gujarat Gang-Rape Convicts Released From Jail Despite Centre's Rule
It was one of the most horrific crimes recorded during the Gujarat riots of 2002 - Bilkis Bano was gangraped and 7 members of her family murdered including her 3-year-old daughter. Now, the men convicted of these horrific crimes have walked out of jail under a remission policy announced by the Gujarat government. Ironically, the centre has strongly argued against releasing rape convicts but the Gujarat government saw it differently.
