Gujarat polls: The tribal factor
Gujarat, the most urbanised state in India, also has one of the highest tribal populations. The state's eastern belt is predominantly tribal. As the state gears up for the second phase of polling, the ruling BJP is fighting hard to regain its hold on the seats in the region as it did in the aftermath of the riots in 2002. This time, though, the challenge is tougher as it faces a more confident Congress.
