Gujarat Rain: Thousands Rescued, Relief Ops Underway, More Rain Predicted
Gujarat, ravaged by rain and flood, has no hope of respite anytime soon, with the met department predicting more showers. The Met office has sent out an alert for very heavy rainfall till August 30. With the latest spell, Gujarat has so far received 105 per cent of its average annual rainfall, the State Emergency Operations Centre has said. Twenty-eight people have died in rain-related incidents since the deluge started on Sunday. Around 18,000 people have been evacuated to safety.
