The cap of 65,000 US H1-B visas was hit in the first few days this April. Now, a lottery system – last used in 2008 when the cap was exhausted in a matter of days --- will be used to pick the successful candidates. Experts, Siddharth Pai, president of Asia Pacific Region at Information Services Group; Nishchal Khorana, Head - Consulting, ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan; Trip Chowdhry, managing director of equity research at Global Equities Research, and Som Mittal, president of NASSCOM, discuss what this means for the Indian technology firms, who are big recipients of H1B visas.
