'Big Bull' Harshad Mehta continues to be in news even after his death. Eight flats owned by him and his family in the sea-facing Madhuli Housing co-op society at Worli came up for open bidding by the custodian dealing with the 1992 stock market scam. The auction saw only two bidders who began the bidding for four flats at Rs 5 crore and 22 lakh, but as the bidding intensified, all eight flats went up for auction and the bid was sealed at Rs 20 crore.Interestingly, the government reserve price was Rs 11 crore.Call it the recession impact or a complex litigated property deal, Harshad mehta's sprawling 14,000 sq ft property got the highest bid of Rs 20 crore that is way below the present market price.
