Harshad Mehta scam: I-T dept gets Rs 1995 cr dues
Nearly twenty years after the late ‘Big Bull’ Harshad Mehta shot into national headlines for masterminding India's first securities scam, the custodian under the finance ministry has finally released the disbursement dues to the Income Tax department and State Bank of India. The Custodian as per directive of the Supreme Court has released the cheques of Rs. 1995.66 crore to I-T department and Rs 199.25 crore to SBI.
