A government-run magazine is promoting ghoonghat, or veil, for its women sparking a controversy in a state that had among the worst sex ratio in the country in last decadal census. In 2015, the Manohar Lal Khattar government had vowed to improve the plight of its women and launched the Beti Padhao campaign to educate the girl child.
