HC: Gender selection insults womanhood
Sex selection being allowed is clearly an insult to womanhood, said the order issued by the Bombay High Court on Thursday. The order was in response to a petition filed by a Mumbai couple, who wanted their third child to be a son. Vijay and Kirti Sharma who have two daughters had challenged the PCPNDT (Pre Conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Tests Act), which bans sex determination on the grounds that it was against the right to life and liberty.
