Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said curbing the flow of grey water into rives is the first step towards ensuring water bodies in the country remain healthy. "The whole planet needs rivers and the environment to remain healthy. In India, the unique characteristic of our rivers is that most of these rivers are rain-fed. Curbing the flow of greywater into the rivers is the first step towards cleaning up the river. The ecological flow of rivers needs to be ensured and we have started to work on this," Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said at the Banega Swasth India 12-Hour Swasthagraha campaign today.
