Odisha is sizzling in summer heat. The extreme heat and humidity is making daily life for citizens difficult. The soaring temperatures are being recorded in western, southern, and central Odisha. Jharsuguda has recorded the highest temperature at 45.4 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours while Sambalpur recorded 43 degrees and Hirakud recorded a temperature of 42.2 degrees. Rourkela was at 42 degrees. As many as four cities in Odisha recorded temperature of above 40 degrees and the respite provided by the Norwester rains was short-lived. As many as 8 districts have been issued a yellow warning for heat wave while 11 districts were given yellow warning for humidity.
