Heavy rain lashes South India
South India is experiencing severe spell of rain due to depression in the Bay of Bengal which is heading towards Gulf of Mannar. Rains in Chennai have stopped, the delta region has been the worst hit where 16 people have died and now there is a danger of thousands of acres of paddy being destroyed. Thanjavur and Nagapattinam districts received upto 30 centimetres of rain.
