Actor Randeep Hooda was reportedly upset that Highway became Alia Bhatt's film purely on the basis of her family connections. Responding to his allegations, Alia said "Randeep was a critically acclaimed and established actor even before Highway. It is as much Randeep's film as it is mine. In fact, at the end of the day, it is Imtiaz Ali's (director) film."
