Hima Das, 18, created a history by becoming the first Indian track athlete to win gold in a world championship across all age groups. Hima Das hails from Kandulimari village in Dhing Town of Nagaon district of Assam , about 150 kms away from Guwahati. Family and friends are proud of Hima's achievement and spoke exclusively to NDTV, sharing the story of her struggles and her rise.
