The Congress is having an implosion of sorts in Himachal Pradesh after multiple MLAs voted for BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan yesterday in the Rajya Sabha polls. A defiant Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday rejected speculation that he would step down as Chief Minister even as disgruntled party legislators threatened a rebellion and the BJP called for a floor test. Congress has initiated a disqualification motion against its six lawmakers who cross-voted for the BJP in Rajya Sabha polls. Meanwhile, the six Congress MLAs, who were issued a show-cause notice for defying the whip for the Rajya Sabha polls on Tuesday, appeared before the Speaker along with their lawyer and argued that they had not been provided all the relevant documents.
