Hindalco's networth impacted by Novelis write-offs

Two years after acquiring the US-based Novelis, Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla has taken the unpalatable but prudent step of writing off $1.8 billion from its net worth on account of asset impairment.
