Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani said that Nate Anderson has decided to disband Hindenburg Research over possible fears that the US President-elect Donald Trump's administration "may have already started some kind of a probe" into the short seller.
"He is a research analyst who provides reports and gives it to people, or he is hired by people who need to bear hammer a few shares for profiteering. He became a little larger than life because he took on one of the biggest industrialists in India," Mr Jethmalani said.
"I suspect the (incoming) Trump administration must have already started some kind of a probe, which led to this man winding up this company," he added.
