Historic Elevation: Justice Nagarathna Set To Be Sworn In As Top Court Judge | Read
58-year-old Justice B V Nagarathna is set to be sworn in as a judge of the Supreme Court with eight others. Her elevation will make history as she will become the first woman Chief Justice of India in 2027 following in the footsteps of her father ES Venkataramiah, Chief Justice of India between June and December 1989. At her farewell, the Karnataka High Court judge spoke about the importance of the Constitution and encouraged women advocates to believe in themselves.
